Checking out my junk

I have figured out what we should wear for the next TKS party. Of course, we'll need to get some midgets too.

Have you been watching 30 Rock? It's gotten so it's the best comedy on TV, even better than The Office. Don't believe me? What other show makes fun of Burning Man, Larry King, and Jim Morrison? ("Being terrible has never hurt anyone in the music business. Look at Biz Markie. Or the Doors.")

I guess the only show that's even close is Flight of the Conchords, and that's mostly funny during the songs.

Have you seen "Sugarlumps" yet?

Or "Too Many Dicks on the Dancefloor"?

"It ain't no good if there's too much wood." Indeed.

Cumbia, Not Kumbaya

I've been researching cumbia for an article, and I keep coming upon all these great videos. First, check out this Samim song, which uses a cumbia sample -- you can't go wrong with dancing strangers and accordions, especially if there's a guy in a giant bunny suit.

And then there's this ridiculously catchy Los Pikadientes de Caborca song, which was a Top Ten hit in the US last year. I meant to play it at the last TKS party, but I couldn’t fit it into the set.

Going old school tecnocumbia, here's Up, Bustle & Out's "Cumbion Mountain"

And here's a trailor for the electro-cumbia club in Buenos Aires that's playing the Rickshaw on April 16. Get out your whistles.
